How to grow lettuce in a pot, step by step
To grow lettuce in a pot, use a container about 20 to 25 cm (8 to 10 in) deep, with drainage holes and a mix for vegetables. Choose a seedling suited to the season in your region.

Plant without burying the center
Dig a hole the size of the root ball, settle the seedling and firm it gently. If you sow seeds, follow the packet and thin them so the seedlings do not grow crowded.
Water and harvest
Keep the soil moist without soaking it. Watch the center and the size of the leaves to decide when to harvest. Pick outer leaves a few at a time or cut the whole plant, depending on the variety and how you use it.
