Apartment vegetable garden: what to grow with little space and little sun

By Fazendinha Retrô Team · Published on

In an apartment garden, the light you have decides what to grow. On a bright balcony, start with leafy greens or herbs and save sun-hungry plants, like tomatoes, for the brightest spot.

Observe your balcony

Note where the sun reaches in the morning and in the afternoon. Use stable pots, kept inside the railing and with drainage. Empty saucers after watering.

Adjust to how the plant responds

Pale leaves and stretched seedlings can mean too little light. Try a brighter spot and see whether new leaves grow more compact. In a dark room, rethink the location before buying more seedlings.
