How much to water a vegetable garden: the most common beginner mistake
How much water a garden needs depends on the pot, the potting mix and the weather. Before watering, check the moisture just below the surface and make sure the container's holes are clear.

Water where it counts
Pour water at soil level and let the excess drain. Small seedlings need a gentle stream. Hotter or windier days can dry the pot faster.
Avoid watering on autopilot
A dry surface can hide a moist interior. Check the soil and the weight of the pot, adjust the interval and see how the leaves respond over the next few days.
