How to grow tomatoes in a pot: from sowing to the first tomato
To grow tomatoes in a pot, choose a variety suited to containers, like a compact cherry tomato. Save the sunniest spot on the balcony and a pot that drains well.
From seed to seedling
Sow following the packet and transplant when the seedling is sturdy enough to handle. Use a stake suited to the variety and tie the stem with a loose tie.
From growth to fruit
Water the soil regularly, avoid standing water and check the stake as the plant grows. Harvest when the fruit has the color and firmness typical of the variety you chose.
