Where food comes from: how to explain it to kids (with help from a game)
To explain where food comes from, follow one food from the field to the plate. A lettuce, for example, needs to grow, be harvested and reach the market or the kitchen.
Draw the journey
Make cards for seed, seedling, harvest, transport and cooking. Put them in order and ask where the work of the people who plant, sell and cook fits in.
