How to grow sunflowers: from pot to garden
To grow sunflowers in a pot, choose a compact variety and a sturdy container with drainage. For tall varieties, save a sunny corner of the garden with space around it.
Sow where it will grow
Follow the depth and spacing on the packet. Water carefully during germination and reduce competition by giving the strongest seedlings room to grow.
Protect it from wind
If the stem leans on windy days, use a stake and a loose tie. In pots, check stability before the plant gets tall, especially on balconies.
