Two free-to-start options
Hay Day lets you run a farm and fill orders. Supercell states that purchases are optional and that an internet connection is required. FarmVille 3 focuses on raising animals and also lists optional purchases, including random items.
Options with fewer interruptions
Pocket Acres states free access and no ads, with optional purchases. Its listing says the game is in English. Fazendinha Retrô opens in Safari and lets you try the growing cycle without downloading an app from the App Store.
